My Homelab

Server Rack

I am very interested in computing and networking technologies so I decided to build a small homelab consisting of a router, an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch, two Mini-PCs and a variety of storage devices. The physical structure of the computing and networking equipment rack is all 3D printed with custom designed trays for each component.

This setup allows me to experiment with different technologies and host a variety of services for personal use.

Proxmox

The router is running OpenWRT firmware on its own subnet to keep it isolated from the main network. The two Mini-PCs are clustered ProxMox Hosts running the following services:

  • SMB Server for a NAS
  • JellyFin, AudiobookShelf and Calibre Servers for Media Streaming
  • qBittorrent Server
  • Trillium Next, LinkWarden, WikiJs and Vikunja Servers for Self-Hosted Personal Knowledge Management
  • Uptime Kuma and Homer Servers for Server Monitoring
  • PiHole and Caddy Proxy Servers for DNS Resolution and Ad-Blocking
  • Home Assistant Server for Home Automation
  • VMs for each of the Major Linux Distributions
  • And More... Depending on the day
